We feel like Cinco de Mayo is really the pre-party to summer and the warm up to outdoor barbecues, spending warm leisurely evenings sitting on the patio with friends and enjoying a meal. We have two really great and fun Cinco de Mayo festive Tablescapes to share with you to get you thinking about this colorful mini holiday. We love how vibrant the color palette is…it screams let’s have fun and enjoy a margarita with my best friends.
Let the design juices start flowing as we share our Cinco de Mayo inspiration with you. Our first tablescape is inspired by the bright yellow color of our sombreros. We love these adorable little guys with their green and red sequined trim. We built the entire tablescape around them. They were originally headbands, we simply cut the sombreros off the headband. Next we paired our stripped colorful napkin with the green placemats which set the foundation and pulled all the colors together. Of course, a pop of orange with the margarita glasses. We picked up all the accent pieces at our local Pier 1.
The Dinnerware is from the Dinner4Two collection by Kitchen Charm. The Dinnerware is Spyro and the flatware is Cairo.

Our Second Cinco de Mayo fiestive tablescape is just as vibrant and full of fiesta fun as the first one. You can see we really do love our cute little sombreros as they make another appearance in this tablescape.
We couldn’t pass up the bright yellow placemats with their multicolored tassels and the accent bowls. They’re the perfect compliment to the placemats. We clearly envisioned serving a delicious taco tortilla soup in them. We just had to have the maracas to add a little Mariachi feel to our party and once again we added a pop of orange with our solid napkin. We felt we had enough design elements with the placemats, shallow bowls and maracas.
The dinnerware is Spyro from the Dinner4Two collection as well as the flatware, Rustique. The stemware is Gala and the drinkware is London, all from the Dinner4Two collection. They all pare beautifully to make this tablescape come together. Can’t you just envision a fruity sangria in our stemware…we can!
When designing a tablescape it’s important to add enough design elements like color, shapes and textures to make your tablescapes come to life; but you need to achieve a balance between design and simplicity.
We really love creating special tablescapes to sit down and dine to. They add that element of punch to a party. With every chance we get we always try to greet guests to a little something more with a beautiful tablescape. It sets the tone and anticipation for the wonderful meal they are about to share in.
Life is delicious
