- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- 2 cups frozen peas
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups low-fat chicken broth
- ½ cup low-fat sour cream
To Prepare Mashed Potatoes:
Peel potatoes with the Paring Knife and cut them into four pieces using the Chef’s Knife. Snip chives as needed with the Shears. Place potatoes in the 2-quart Saucepan and add ¾ cup water. Place lid on with the Redy-cook valve closed; cook at medium heat for 25 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Drain remaining liquid using the Junior Steamer/Colander. In the 1-quart Milk Warmer, heat up milk and butter at low for 5 minutes. Add the heated milk mixture to the potatoes and mash; season with salt and pepper to taste and mix with half of the snipped chives.
To Prepare Turkey:
Following the instructions cut turkey bacon and vegetables with the Chef’s Knife. Preheat RoyalCore Electric Skillet at 300 °F for 3 minutes. Add turkey bacon and fry for 3 minutes. Carefully discard extra grease, add onion and mix for 2 minutes. Add shredded turkey; season with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika and thyme.
Add carrots and celery; season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook at medium heat until the valve whistles (in about 6 minutes). Add bell pepper and frozen peas; mix and cook for 2 minutes. Blend in flour and cook for 2 more minutes. Add chicken broth and mix until combined. Pour sour cream and mix well. Cook at 200 °F for 8 minutes.
To Assemble Shepherd’s Pie:
Preheat broiler to high. Compress turkey mixture in the RoyalCore and top it with an even layer of mashed potatoes. Place RoyalCore on the Kitchen Charm Cookie Sheet, and carefully set them both on the oven rack (about 5 inches from the broiler). Broil the potatoes until the edges are golden, and remove the Electric Skillet from the oven. Garnish with smoked paprika and remaining chives.
