Fast & Easy New Years Eve Appetizers

Fast and Easy New Year’s Eve Appetizers

All the presents have been opened, the house has been cleaned and now it’s time to relax and ring in the New Year. Today we are sharing with you one of our fast and easy New Years Eve appetizers and our holiday punch.

Whether you’re hosting the party or going to be a guest and need a quick and easy yummy something to take to the celebration; we have you covered with our cream cheese Christmas tree and cranberry mint holiday punch.

Both are delicious and will add a nice compliment of color to the celebration table. We love the versatility of the holiday punch. If your New years Eve celebration includes a younger set of guests this holiday punch is perfect for them or it can easily become an adult libation with the addition of rum.

Both of these items would make a nice addition to a New Years Day brunch.

Cream Cheese Christmas Tree

Ingredients:

  • 2 Large bell peppers – 1 red and 1 green – cut your star from these to top your tree
  • 1 Brick cream cheese
  • 1 Jar Hot pepper jam
  • 1 Green Onion

Dircetions:

Cut the bell peppers in half; remove the seeds and the core. With the cut side down cut out a star and set aside. This took us a couple of tries before we got the star we were looking for. Clean and cut the green onion in half.  Cut the sides of the cream cheese brick at an angle, the shape of a Christmas tree. Spoon the hot pepper jam over the cream cheese. Add the star on top and add the green onion for the trunk.

Before you serve, let it sit out to get to room temperature to let the cream cheese soften before serving with your favorite crackers.

Cranberry Mint Holiday Punch

Ingredients:

  • 1- 2 liter of sprite
  • 1-46oz Jug of Cran-raspberry juice
  • 10 Crushed mint leaves
  • Mint leaves for garnish
  • 1 bag of cranberries for garnish
  • Optional: 3 Cups Rum – We suggest Tia Maria Rum

Directions:

Bruise the mint leaves with the back of a spoon in a bowl. You want to release the flavor of the mint leaves. Mix the first 3 ingredients together in a punch bowl. Let sit for an hour and then strain out the bruised mint leaves. Add ice. Garnish with cranberries and mint leaves.

If you are turning this into an adult beverage add the rum just before you add the ice.
