Ingredients:
- 2 lbs cooked hams
- 1 cup Water
- 2 12 oz ginerale
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- ¼ sugar
- 3 pieces star anise
- 1 stick cinnamon
- ¼ corn starch
- 2 oz fresh ginger (about 1” piece) peeled and chopped
Procedure:
Place ham in 10.5” skillet add 1 cup of water put lid on with the valve open, turn heat to medium high. When the valve whistles, at about 9 minutes; close valve and turn heat off. Let sit until ginger glaze is ready. Ham temperature should be at 145.
Ginger Glaze Procedure:
In a 2 quart sauce pan add remaining ingredients EXCEPT corn starch. Cook on medium high heat for about 6 minutes uncovered. Add cornstarch and stir to thicken. Let simmer for 2 minutes on low. Strain glaze to remove any large pieces; this will create a nice thick ginger glaze to pour over your ham.
