Marinated Tuna

Culinary Tools:

  • Round Grill
  • 1-quart Mixing Bowl
  • 3-quart Mixing Bowl with Cover


  • ½ pound (2) blue fin tuna slices, thick
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons virgin olive oil
  • 2/3 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 2/3 tablespoon basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Preheat the Round Grill at medium heat for 4 minutes.  Add tuna slices previously seasoned with salt and pepper; make sure they are evenly places so they both brown.  Turn the filets over after 3 minutes or until they don’t stick on the grill finish browning the other side.

In the 1-quart Mixing Bowl, add the lime juice, olive oil, crushed red pepper, basil and more salt if necessary; mix well.  In the 3-quart Mixing Bowl, place the tuna slices and pour the mixture over the filets evenly; cover.  Let marinate for 20 minutes at room temperature.
