Penne Pasta with Tomato Basil Cream Sauce

Fall calls for warm comfort food and this recipe for penne past with tomato basil cream sauce is one of our favorite comforting dinners. Using only one pot- our favorite Dinner 4 Two by Kitchen Charm 10.5″ Skillet you’ll have this meal on the table in no time at all.

Follow these steps to make this delicious one pot penne pasta with tomato basil cream sauce.

Step 1: Pre heat the 10.5” Kitchen Charm skillet for 3 minutes on medium high. Turn heat down to medium; add the ground beef and cook until browned.

Step 2: Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the ground beef and cook until the onions are translucent.

Step 3: Add the spaghetti sauce, water, pasta, pesto and half & half, stir.

Step 4: Put the lid on with the Redy-cook Valve open, wait for the Redy-cook Valve to begin whistling; close Redy-cook Valve and turn heat down and cook for an additional 20 minutes or until sauce has thicken and pasta is done to al dente

Step 5: Remove skillet from heat and add the cheeses over the top of the pasta mixture. Put the lid back on and wait 10 minutes for cheese to melt.

Penne Pasta with Tomato Basil Cream Sauce

So easy and delicious, Penne Pasta with Tomato Basil Cream Sauce. Just one pot and you’re done. This recipe is filling and perfect for a weeknight when you don’t have a lot of time or energy to get dinner on the table. The flavors work beautifully to deliver a soul satisfying bite that will bring everyone to the table. It also makes great leftovers to take to work.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Lb – 1.5 Lb Ground Beef 
  • 1 16 oz Box penne pasta
  • 1 24 oz Spaghetti sauce 
  • 24 Oz Water
  • 1 Medium onion, chopped
  • 1 Cup half & half cream
  • 3 Cloves minced garlic
  • 6 oz Pesto
  • 8 oz Mozzarella cheese – shredded
  • 4 oz Parmesan cheese – shredded

Directions:

  1. Pre heat the 10.5” Kitchen Charm skillet for 3 minutes on medium high. 
  2. Turn heat down to medium; add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain off any fat. Stir ground beef to ensure you don’t have large chunks.
  3. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the ground beef and cook until the onions are translucent.
  4. Add the spaghetti sauce, water, pasta, pesto and half & half, stir. Put the lid on with the Redy-cook Valve open, wait for the Redy-cook Valve to begin whistling; close Redy-cook Valve and turn heat down and cook for an additional 20 minutes or until sauce has thicken and pasta is done to al dente. Stir a few times during the cooking process to make sure pasta isn’t sticking to the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Remove skillet from heat and add the cheeses over the top of the pasta mixture. Put the lid back on and wait 10 minutes for cheese to melt.
