Double Cream Pumpkin Pie French Toast

We’re celebrating national French toast day with our double delicious, double cream pumpkin pie French toast. Rich and decadent are the only words you can use to describe this French toast. Its creamy texture combined with pumpkin and yummy pie spices make it worthy of celebrating national French toast day.
You can make the dipping mixture a few days ahead of time and store in the fridge. Just give it a good mix before you dip your bread.
We also tried a few different kinds of breads with this recipe; sourdough, oatmeal, fresh French loaf from the bakery cut on the diagonal and white bread. We all agreed, for a little twist the French bread loaf won. But you can never go wrong with good old white bread. Remember you are the chef and it’s always about what you and the ones you are cooking for like.
Double Cream Pumpkin French Toast
Ingredients
- 1 Loaf fresh French bread
- 3 Eggs
- ¾ Pumpkin puree
- ¼ Cup half & half
- ½ Cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 Tsp real vanilla
- 2 Tbl brown sugar
- 1 Tbl pumpkin pie spice
- ¼ Cup chopped walnuts
- Spray non stick non stick coating
Directions
Slice the French loaf on the diagonal. Combine all ingredients. Whisk ingredients briskly to thoroughly combine. Dip the bread in your egg mixture and put in the gourmet Kitchen Charm skillet to cook. We really love the Kitchen Charm double griddle for cooking french toast and pancakes.
Heat your large skillet on medium, let it get warm before you put your first piece of French toast in; spray skillet generously with non stick cooking spray. Cook about 3 minutes on each side until you see a beautiful golden brown crust.
