Caramel Apple Sundae Bar
Apples, Apples, Apples…Red, Yellow, Green, it’s apple season.
Did you know a single apple tree will produce an average of 840 lbs of apples in a single season? That would make more than 400 pies and over 1600 caramel apples.
There’re a 101 different delicious apple desserts you could make this time of year to celebrate and share apple season with your loved ones. We have a fun twist on the classic caramel apple for you to try. It’s a caramel apple sundae bar! All you need is a little creativity, caramel sauce, fun mix-ins for toppings and your favorite apples!
For our caramel apple sundae bar we used Fiji apples. We love the delicate sweetness and crisp crunch when you bite into this delicious apple. We think it makes the perfect base for building the ultimate caramel apple sundae. We choose a variety of textures along with yummy fun and colorful mix-ins for toppings. We used Reese Pieces, slivered almonds, pecans, M&M’s, dried apricots, coconut trail mix, ginger snaps and semi sweet chocolate chips. The list is endless when it comes to your offerings of mix-ins. For dipping sauces to make this caramel bar complete we made a homemade caramel sauce and served along side a chocolate sauce.
You could poll your family and guests ahead of time and ask each of them what their favorite snacking treats are and what would be on their dream caramel apple? Then surprise them by including that mix-in on your sundae bar.
We think this is the perfect treat for a fall get together, tailgate party or Friday night movie night. One things for sure this is a treat bar made to share with friends and watch all the fun combinations they create. Enjoy!
